If you should ever be fortunate enough to be asked to be someone’s best man then you are going to have a few very important responsibilities throughout the wedding process. During the wedding itself you will need to ensure that the groom gets there on time, and in one piece, you will need to safeguard the rings and be ready when called upon and you will need to deliver a heartwarming, funny, well structured speech for the guests to enjoy.
Despite all of this heavy responsibility, there is one task that trumps them all and that is organizing the stag do. Stag do’s throughout the years is what goes down in history between the boys when someone gets married and it will be remembered between the lads for far longer than the wedding day will.
If you are organizing a stag do for your mate and what it to be legendary then here are some tips to help you out.
Location
The first thing you need to be thinking about is the where, once you have decided on the location then you can either hire a company to organise it who operate in that area, or start making some plans yourself. Most stag parties take place across a weekend and gives you and the boys the perfect chance for a trip away. Eastern Europe has become a popular destination for stag parties in recent years thanks to its low priced beer and of course you could look into sunny spots like Spain or Greece for a crazy weekend in the sunshine. Try to think about what the stag would want and then get booking.
Theme
It’s always a good idea to give the stag a wind up on at least one of the nights of his stag do and for this you should start thinking about a theme. There are loads of ideas about different fancy dress costumes online that you could go for and you should do a bit of research before you go to ensure that the stag is suitably embarrassed.
Activities
Whilst you could of course just drink your way through an entire weekend with your pals, if you want to add a special touch to proceedings then why not look at some awesome activities to do on your weekend away. This could be anything from go-karting to paint balling, shooting rifles to kayaking, have a good look around at what is available in your chosen destination and then take your stag do to the next level with some adventure.
Watch Outs
I’ve learned from my own experience that you should most certainly get the money from people who are attending the stag do, before you pay a penny. I got stung a few years ago after booking on my credit card and then 3 people failed to front up with the cash. Let everyone know exactly how much it will cost and when you need the money by.
Another thing to remember is that when you are on your party, the stag and the activities which you have organized are your only responsibility, if someone goes MIA or gets into trouble, you are not duty bound to fix the issue.
